SLEEP APNEA

Do you suffer from chronic snoring? Keeping your spouse and yourself up all night? Many people have Sleep Apnea.

Sleep Apnea is a sleep disorder, characterized by pauses in breathing patterns. Apnea poses many threats to a person’s health. It creates additional stress on the heart each time the apnea (breathing stoppage) occurs. You may experience high blood pressure, weight gain, inability to stay awake during the day, as well as other side effects. While we do not diagnose a patient with Sleep Apnea, we will gladly refer our patients for a sleep test, called a polysomnogram.

Once a patient is diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, there are a couple of treatment options. CPAP therapy is always the best method for treating Apnea. Unfortunately, many patients aren’t able to tolerate the CPAP so their machine sits in their closet and they go on snoring on a regular basis. An alternative treatment to the CPAP is Oral Appliance Therapy.

We can fabricate an appliance, to be worn in bed, that assists in controlling the apnea occurrences.

This is done by repositioning your lower jaw, thus allowing your airway to remain open. Dr. Craddock has been treating Apnea through Oral Appliance Therapy for over 10 years with great success.

This therapy is approved by many medical insurances and is proven to be very effective.
